| Once the holidays pass and the decorations are down I always crave flowers and plants. Fresh flowers bring new life and energy to any space. And the idea that we can celebrate the idea of the return of warm weather with beautiful arrangements of spring flowers and plants brings a smile to my face and helps me forget it's cold or gray outside. I'm not an expert green thumb by any means. But I do like to have my plants and flowers in my house. I've learned over the years to not necessarily choose the prettiest plants. Instead I now know better to choose the plants that would do best in a spot in my house because of lighting. I always try to leverage what is seasonal. Right now there are a lot of daffodils starting to come up in my yard and soon thereafter I hope to see my tulips. Freshly cut those are always a nice addition to any room. One almost guarantee are succulents. According to wikipedia "In botany, succulent plants, also known as succulents or sometimes fat plants, are plants having some parts that are more than normally thickened and fleshy, usually to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions. Succulent plants may store water in various structures, such as leaves and stems". Lately succulents been all the rage with terrariums or container arrangements. You can see some of my favorites in the image. I'm working on putting my together and have learned that it is really simple. Here's what you will need:
